How much do foot tattoos hurt?

How well do foot tattoos age?
Looks elegant, ages poorly. The top of the foot is high-friction (every shoe rubs it), low blood flow and thin-skinned. Expect noticeable fade in 3–5 years and plan on a touch-up by year 7.

What is healing like on the top of the foot?
The worst heal of any small placement: you have to stay off it, and you can’t. No socks or closed shoes for the first several days; sandals with minimal straps over the tattoo, or no shoes at all.
